Pipeline cleaning

Since one of the main factors affecting the quality of in-line inspection is the cleanliness of the inner surface of the pipeline, ULTA specialists are engaged in the engineering and production of pipeline cleaning equipment with a diameter from 8" to 56".

Gauging Pig

The main function of a gauging pig is to check the geometry of the pipeline preliminary for the passability of the electronic geometry pigs and the cleaning equipment. Gauging pig is equipped with two calibration disks through which the minimal passable diameter of the pipeline is detected. In addition, the gauging pig carries out a primary cleaning of the internal bore of the pipeline.

Bi-Di Cleaning Pig

Bi-Di Cleaning Pig is intended for a basic cleaning of the internal bore of the pipeline from accumulated dirt and foreign objects. In comparison with the gauging pig, the BD’s yoke has a larger diameter and, consequently, greater stiffness of polyurethane discs. Depending on the degree of pollution of the pipeline, the BD can be equipped with different variants of cups and disks.

Magnetic Cleaning Pig

MCP is equipped with magnets and brushes and, having a great mass, is able to produce the most effective cleaning not only from debris accumulated on the inner surface of the pipeline, but also from cinders, electrodes and other metallic foreign objects. It should be separately noted that MCP brushes have a design that excludes damage to the inner coating of the pipeline.
